Meal Plan Monday - August 31



School starts this week and we will be trying to get back into our school schedule.  Our older son will also have 2 soccer practices each week and a game on Saturdays through the end of October, so I will be trying to keep our meals simple for the next couple of months.  Here's the meal plan for this week:

Monday:
     Pizza with whole wheat crust, cantaloupe, salad

Tuesday:
     Spaghetti with homemade sauce and zucchini "meatballs", pumpkin cornmeal cake, cucumbers 

Wednesday:
    Baked chicken nuggets, peas, salad, applesauce

Thursday:
    Turkey sweet potato skillet, corn, carrots and cucumbers

Friday:
    Whole chicken in the crockpot, peas, mashed potato, yogurt biscuits 

Saturday:
    Chicken noodle soup with leftover chicken and homemade chicken broth, leftover biscuits

Sunday:
    Macaroni salad and any leftovers from the week



This family has a bit of a sweet tooth and we often have dessert after dinner.  Since I've been trying to use up the zucchini from our garden, this week's dessert is Carrot and Zucchini Bars.

My favorite thing: meal plans! Wow, I can't believe your boys are just starting back to school. My kids started on August 4th. We hate starting that early.

Wow. I can imagine how hard it would be to start that early, but your children must get out of school earlier than we do. Our schools don't close for the summer until the middle of June.
