Meet Vanessa

I am a gardening-challenged city girl living in the country with my music-loving hubby and two little boys who have a slight obsession with trains.

I'm a crocheter, crafter and wannabe DIY-er who dusted off my sewing machine to make some very special projects for children in need.

Aspiring to be the next Master Chef, I find fulfillment as a Family Chef and can often be found in the kitchen cooking up old family favorites and experimenting with new recipes.

As a stay-at-home mom, I try to live frugally by being thankfulusing samples, ignoring directions, filling our freezer, and using coupons--I never leave home without them!

I hope you will join me as I share about all the things I love--faith, family, food and frugal living.

Random facts about me:

*I love summer.
*And taking the kids to the ocean.
*Even though I've never learned how to swim.
*Roasted Red Pepper Hummus is one of my new favorite things.
*But I love ice cream...and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...and Reese's Peanut Butter Cup ice cream!....
*When I found out our youngest son is allergic to peanuts, I almost cried.
*I don't drink coffee, but I love hot chocolate.
*I don't like being late.
*Or when people drive too close.
*I'm the oldest of three children.
*And the queen of procrastination.
*My husband proposed on my birthday--five months after we met.
*He does not procrastinate.
*When we were first married I had no idea how to cook or bake and I somehow forgot to mention that to him before the wedding.
*I was in labor for 20 hours with our oldest son.  I remember it well.
*And I still agreed to do it again.
*My business degree did not prepare me for potty training, but we still somehow made it through.  I don't think I want to do that again.
*I'm so thankful that I get to do what I always wanted to do--be a stay-at-home mom!
